Mercedes DOIP SD Connect C4

Mercedes-Benz Star C4 SDconnect is a professional diagnostic multiplexer for servicing Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and commercial vehicles. The device supports 12 V and 24 V electrical systems and provides communication between the vehicle’s electronic control units and a computer running compatible XENTRY/DAS software.

The device is suitable for workshops, automotive electronics specialists and transport companies that service Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and commercial vehicles.

Star C4 is used with compatible versions of XENTRY/DAS. Connection to the diagnostic computer is established via LAN or, when a wireless module is installed and configured, via Wi-Fi.

The Mercedes Star Diagnosis SD Connect C4 scanner does not guarantee access to every function of each new vehicle. Vehicle manufacturers increasingly restrict third-party workshops that are not authorized dealerships from accessing certain service functions. Online diagnostics, SCN coding, control-unit software updates and Mercedes-Benz server functions may require an official account, an active subscription and the appropriate access rights.

The package contents, XENTRY/DAS version, SSD capacity, laptop, Wi-Fi module and additional cables depend on the selected product configuration.

XENTRY is the primary diagnostic application for Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

We can install one of the following XENTRY versions. There is no single software package that is ideal for every situation: each XENTRY version has its own advantages and limitations.

• XENTRY 2019 offers the most extensive coding and programming functionality. An SSD with a capacity of at least 240 GB is required.
• XENTRY 2023 provides fewer coding and programming functions than XENTRY 2019 but supports vehicles manufactured after 2019. An SSD with a capacity of at least 500 GB is required.
• XENTRY 2026 provides fewer coding and programming functions than XENTRY 2023 but supports vehicles manufactured after 2023. In the 2026 software releases, XENTRY for passenger cars and XENTRY for commercial vehicles are installed separately. An SSD with a capacity of at least 240 GB is required.

Regardless of the selected XENTRY version, the following applications will be installed as part of the software package:

• DAS;
• WIS 2021;
• EPC 2018;
• StarFinder 2016;
• HHT-WIN;
• Vediamo;
• a collection of calculators required for coding and programming procedures.

Depending on availability, the scanner can be supplied with one of the following business-class laptops:

• Lenovo ThinkPad;
• HP EliteBook;
• Dell Latitude.
